No, it's not romance novels. Those bodice-ripping paperbacks have never caught my interest. My form of junk reading are books based on the TV show Monk. I love the show and when I saw that there were books, too, I just had to give them a try. I've read the ones set in Hawaii, Germany and Paris so far - it's always neat to see how well an author brings a place to life.
So, how are they, you ask? Pretty much mindless junk, but sometimes that's just what I need. A story to slip into with characters I enjoy so that I can relax without trying too hard. The stories are written well enough, but there's a little more cheese factor than necessary. Kinda reminds me of the junk I read a decade or so ago - Star Trek, The Next Generation, novels. I'm a geek!
