Even though it was right before Christmas, we spent three days at the family camp sponsored by Operation Purple. It was for families who were recently reunited after deployment. We had a cabin all to ourselves, right on the beach. It was quite rustic; only bare bunk beds and a bathroom and lots of ants.
It didn't matter how bare the cabin was since we spent so little time there. We were busy climbing a 50 foot tower (me, Mike and Jillian), completing a high rope obstacle course (me and Mike), hiking, building a pitiful gingerbread house, archery, climbing the rock wall (me and Jillian) and, the biggest thrill, riding the giant swing. Here's a few pics...
Jillian and Mike on the tower.
Mike and I found the Odyssey course to be quite a challenge. I lacked strength and Mike lacked balance (don't tell him I said that!)
Posing on our hike.
We cried when our gingerbread house fell. Okay, not really.
Riding the big swing was quite a thrill! Pay no attention to the tight harness...
Marisa doing archery and Jillian up a wall.
It was a very relaxing week-end.
